Thank you letter to local communities from the USFS

BRAVO
Forest Service offers thanks

POSTED: July 24, 2010 on Times Observer Website

An Open Letter of Thanks:

On behalf of the Allegheny National Forest and the National Incident Management Team, I would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to all local communities for your assistance during the 2010 National Rainbow Family gathering. Hosting such a gathering takes a lot of community involvement and quality partnerships to achieve a safe and successful event. With your assistance, we were able to meet that objective.

Your support was invaluable and made our management of this large gathering much easier. We recognize the impacts to businesses, public services and to local residents from the thousands of additional visitors to our area. It is our hope that the positive experiences with this gathering outweigh any negatives that may have occurred.

I would also like to extend my thanks to you for welcoming the employees from other National Forests across the country who came here to work with Allegheny National Forest employees during the event. Your hospitality was highly recognized and very much appreciated.

Sincerely,

Leanne M. Marten, Forest Supervisor
